Dozens picket over deputy's shooting of Kasota man

Family members of a man shot and killed by a Le Sueur County sheriff's deputy say they're still waiting for an explanation on why Tyler Heilman was killed 8 weeks ago.

About 50 people picketed outside the Le Sueur County Sheriff's Department in Le Center Sunday to pressure investigators to provide answers.

The 24-year-old Heilman, unarmed and wearing only a pair of swimming trunks, was shot four times by a deputy outside an apartment building in Kasota.

Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension spokesman Andy Skoogman says his agency has completed its investigation and presented the findings to the Anoka County attorney's office.
