A memorial for homicide victims is scheduled on Friday at the Capitol.
Bells will ring in Duluth, too.
The organizers, led by the Minnesota Alliance on Crime, says the event will remember those lost to murder and call for changes to prevent violence.
The group says 109 Minnesotans were lost to homicide and 163 to drunken driving crashes last year.
The memorial at the Capitol will include families and loved ones. Organizations involved include Parents of Murdered Children and Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
