A Pine Point mother and her two sons died Friday after a head-on collision near White Earth sent their vehicle skidding down a steep embankment and into Net Lake.
Becker County officials say the 28-year-old mother, her 8-month-old son and 3-year-old son died from "catastrophic injuries." None of the deaths were due to drowning.
Sheriff Tim Gordon tells KFGO of Fargo that alcohol doesn't appear to be a factor.
Sheriff's officials say the collision happened about 11 a.m. Friday about three miles east of White Earth on County Highway 34. A pickup truck pulling a construction trailer collided with the mother's vehicle. Both vehicles then slid off the roadway, fell about 80 feet, then landed in Net Lake in about 4½ feet of water.
The other driver, a 40-year-old Ogema man, was treated for minor injuries.
Authorities are investigating. The names of the victims will be released Monday.
