More traffic delays this week at I-35W, Crosstown

Commuters who use the Interstate 35W corridor south of downtown Minneapolis could suffer more delays than usual in the next week thanks to ongoing Crosstown reconstruction project.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is closing the Diamond Lake Road bridge over I-35W at 9 a.m. Monday as crews work on the bridge deck. It's scheduled to reopen by 5 a.m. on Tuesday.

Then on Friday at 10 p.m., MnDOT crews will shut down the southbound lanes of I-35W at the western junction of Highway 62. The lanes won't reopen until 5 p.m. Saturday. Northbound I-35W and Highway 62 will remain open during the closure.
