Minn. hunger forum draws GOP, DFL governor candidates

A bipartisan blend of candidates for Minnesota governor meet up Wednesday for a forum focused on hunger and poverty issues.

At least a dozen candidates from the chock-full field were due at the St. Paul RiverCentre for the event. Seven Democrats and five Republicans told organizers they were coming.

Until now, Republican and Democratic candidates for governor have mainly stuck to their own party gatherings.

Hunger Solutions Minnesota billed the event as the first opportunity to hear policy statements on hunger from the leading candidates.
