Police in Duluth remove explosives from man's car

Police officers and members of the Minnesota Air National Guard removed explosives from the trunk of a car in Duluth on Monday.

A man called 911 at about 2 p.m. and said that he had just picked up some "dynamite" from a friend. The man said he was going to help the friend by disposing of it for him.

The caller said he had "second thoughts" about disposing of it himself and called the police, according to a statement from the Duluth Police Department.

Officials blocked off a one-block area around the car until the explosives were removed.

Police are investigating the incident.
