The infamous motorized La-Z-Boy lounge chair used by a man who was convicted of driving it drunk in northern Minnesota is going up for auction.

Dennis LeRoy Anderson pleaded guilty this month to driving while intoxicated in connection with the August 2008 incident in Proctor. Anderson told police he left a bar on his chair after drinking eight or nine beers.

Proctor police are putting the seized chair up for auction on eBay Thursday. Police Chief Walter Wobig says he's starting the bidding at $500 Thursday and it will be up for five days.

By law, the proceeds have to go to the police, state and the prosecuting attorney.

Anderson's family is also auctioning on eBay an autographed photo of Anderson riding the chair to help him with fees.
