Duluth police looking for vehicle in hit-and-run

Police in Duluth are still looking for an SUV that hit an 18-year-old pedestrian over the weekend.

Alexander Michael Balluff, of Oak Grove, was in St. Mary's Medical Center in critical but stable condition Sunday night. He was hit early Saturday morning while walking with friends on the shoulder of Rice Lake Road in a residential area where many University of Minnesota-Duluth students live.

Police spokesman Brad Wick said investigators are looking for a newer, small black SUV, possibly a Honda CRV. The SUV would have damage to its passenger side front, he said. The passenger side mirror might also be missing, as it was left at the scene.

Wick said Balluff was visiting friends in Duluth at the time of the incident.
