A 75-year-old man has died after he became trapped in a corn bin in southern Minnesota, authorities said.
Sibley County Sheriff Bruce Ponath said authorities received a call around 3:30 p.m. Monday about a man being buried in corn.
When rescue workers arrived, they found the body of Jerry Wannarka, of rural Winthrop, inside the grain bin, Ponath said.
The incident happened in Alfsborg Township, which is about seven miles southwest of Gaylord. Sibley County is located southwest of the Twin Cities.
Ponath said an autopsy will be conducted and that investigators are still trying to determine exactly what happened.
