"Northern Lights Southern Cross" has been selling out performances at the Dowling Studio at the Guthrie Theater for the last couple weeks.

The play, written by and starring Kevin Kling, features an international cast of actors with handicaps and able-bodied performers.

While not unheard of locally, the issue of casting artists with disabilities has attracted national attention in recent days.

MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with Morning Edition arts commentator and St. Paul Pioneer Press theater critic Dominic Papatola about the subject.
