Man, child killed, 2 others hurt in Forest Lake crash

The State Patrol says a man and a young child were killed and two others were injured in a head-on crash on Interstate 35 in Forest Lake Sunday.

Lt. Matt Langer says a man driving a pickup truck north cut across the grassy median and struck a car traveling south about 11 a.m.

The man and child were in the car. The pickup driver was taken to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale with serious injuries. A passenger in the truck suffered minor injuries.

All four lanes of southbound Interstate 35 were closed for nearly five hours as the State Patrol investigated the crash.
