Gov. Pawlenty to visit New Hampshire

Gov. Tim Pawlenty has scheduled a December trip to New Hampshire.

Michael Dennehy, who was a senior adviser to John McCain in 2008, said Pawlenty will be the keynote speaker at a fundraiser for the Republican Senate Majority Committee PAC, the money raising arm for Republicans in the New Hampshire state Senate.

"His presence in New Hampshire will help support the State Senate Republican Party in their effort to retake the New Hampshire Senate," Dennehy said. He added that he's been working on getting Pawlenty on the schedule "for about a month."

Dennehy wouldn't speculate about whether Pawlenty is considering a run for president. New Hampshire is a critical test for any candidate hoping to make a run for the White House. The announcement that he'll will visit New Hampshire comes just days after he visited Iowa, the first caucus state.

Pawlenty is also scheduled to speak in Florida on Friday.
