Minn. program offers cell phone help for blind users
Cell phone coaches are giving free training sessions on Friday for blind and visually impaired people.
Specialists from AT&T are offering hourlong one-on-one training sessions in St. Paul.
The idea is to teach blind and visually impaired Minnesotans to fully use their wireless devices. Some have trouble mastering the devices or using all the features.
Among the participants will be state Rep. Torrey Westrom, who is visually impaired. Westrom is a Republican from Elbow Lake who is serving his seventh term in the House.
The coaching program is a free service from AT&T, the Minnesota State Services for the Blind and Vision Loss Resources.
