Motions hearing in terrorism case rescheduled

A pretrial motions hearing has been rescheduled for a Somali man who has pleaded not guilty to lying to the FBI.

Twenty-six-year-old Abdow M. Abdow is now due to appear in U.S. District Court on Jan. 4. He's accused of lying to agents investigating the disappearances of around 20 young Somali men who went to possibly fight with terrorists.

Authorities say Abdow drove to Nevada with four people, some of whom left the U.S. The Nevada Highway Patrol stopped Abdow Oct. 6.

Abdow's attorney wants evidence from that traffic stop to be kept out of the case. He says there was no basis for that stop. The motion is one of many expected to be brought up in court next month.

(Editors note: This story previously incorrectly reported the date of the hearing as Dec. 11, 2009.)
