Man charged in Roseville attempted robbery

A 40-year-old Minneapolis man has been charged for allegedly walking into an office complex in Roseville with a gun and demanding money from a female front desk employee.

Michael Kevin Jones was charged Friday with three counts, including one count of first-degree attempted aggravated robbery.

According to the complaint, Jones was arrested outside shortly after Thursday's incident began. He told police he was coming from an appointment next door, but police were suspicious and arrested him. They later found a sawed-off shotgun and numerous shells in a bag nearby.

The female victim said Jones pointed the gun at her and repeatedly demanded money, but she didn't have any.

Thursday's incident forced the evacuation of the office building. A nearby school and day care were locked down. No one was injured.
