One person is shot and wounded and two men are in jail following a police standoff in northern Minnesota Wednesday.
Park Rapids Police Chief Terry Eilers (EYE'-lers) says officers were called to an apartment building on a report of a fight and shots fired. A female witness told officers a man was being held hostage and possibly threatened with a gun. Shots were heard and a 47-year-old man left the apartment with a gunshot wound to his leg. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Eilers tells WDAY the two men, who are brothers, waved knives and guns around and threatened officers. They held off SWAT officers for about 4 hours until police used tear gas to taken them into custody.
The suspects, ages 39 and 31, are being held in the Hubbard County Jail.
