Minn. faith groups promote Christian, Muslim bond

The Minnesota Council of Churches and the Muslim American Society of Minnesota are trying to get Christians and Muslim to view each other as friends and neighbors.

The faith groups are sponsoring one of its "Taking Heart" events on Thursday evening at the Muslim Community Center in Bloomington. The event is billed as a low-key setting with food and conversation aimed at fostering conversations and eventually, friendly relationships between Christians and Muslims.

Similar events have been held at various sites in the Twin Cities in recent years. This is the first Taking Heart partnership centered on the Bloomington-Richfield Center.
