Minn. couple accused of kidnapping, sex assault

A Grand Marais man who discovered his wife was having an affair is accused of using a crowbar, knife and gun to force the other man to have sex with his wife.

Kevin Robert Thompson, 52, is charged with kidnapping, assault, terroristic threats, false imprisonment and second-degree criminal sexual conduct. His wife, Susan Ann Thompson, is charged with second-degree criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping and false imprisonment.

The Duluth News Tribune reported the eight- to nine-hour alleged incident happened May 15-16. The prosecutor filed his probable cause brief Friday.

A criminal complaint said the 43-year-old alleged victim and Thompson's 40-year-old wife were having an affair. The complaint quotes the man as saying Kevin Thompson discovered them and secured him and loosely restrained his wife.
