Railroad worker killed by train in Minneapolis
A Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway worker was killed in Minneapolis Tuesday morning when a railcar derailed and slammed the man against a building.
Samuel Lundy was dropping off loaded railcars at a customer facility at about 11:30 a.m. when the railcar jumped the tracks and killed him.
Lundy, 44, had worked for the company for 17 years. He is survived by his wife and three children.
"This is a very sad reminder that safety must continue to be our top priority," said company spokesman Steve Forsberg.
Forsberg extended his sympathies to Lundy's family and said the company is investigating the incident. The company has not yet determined what caused the derailment.
