North Dakota State University will install steel beams to support the roof over a collapsed portion of Minard Hall.

The northwest wall of the four-story building collapsed over the weekend next to an area that had been excavated for an expansion project.

Campus facilities manager Bruce Frantz said the beam installation is expected to begin this week.

The university has filed a $500,000 insurance claim for damage to the building, which housed classrooms and offices.
