Snowmobiler arrested for drunken driving

A snowmobiler is accused of driving his sled while drunk and fleeing from sheriff's deputies down the main street of a small town in northern Minnesota.

The 28-year-old Rice Lake man was arrested just after midnight Tuesday after a Stearns County sheriff's deputy says he clocked him going 25 mph over the speed limit in St. Stephen, which is north of St. Cloud.

The deputy says when he tried stopping the snowmobile, the driver suddenly accelerated and a female passenger fell off.

Authorities say the man has three prior alcohol-related driving offenses.
