Faribault woman sentenced for bomb threats

A federal judge has sentenced a Faribault woman to 4½ years in prison for threatening to bomb post offices in southern Minnesota.

U.S. District Judge John Tunheim also sentenced 39-year-old Christina Anne Reineke to three years of supervised release Thursday.

Reineke pleaded guilty last September to one count of mailing threatening communications. Specifically, the charge says that in February 2009 she sent a letter threatening to kill or injure workers and customers at eight post offices.

The locations include post offices in Mankato, North Mankato, Lake Crystal, Madelia, New Ulm, Sleepy Eye, St. James and Le Center.

She was originally accused of threatening a total of 16 post offices and the Faribault Daily News.
