Police officer dies in snowmobile crash
An off-duty police officer died and another man was injured in a weekend snowmobile crash.
The Hennepin County medical examiner's office identified the officer as 31-year-old Patrick Callaghan of Alexandria.
Callaghan died of multiple blunt force trauma when his snowmobile crashed on the Central Lakes Trail in Alexandria Township Friday night.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press says 25-year-old Mark Ruder of Glencoe was injured and was hospitalized in satisfactory condition Sunday night.
