2 NW Minn. teens charged with poaching 7 deer
Two teens have been charged with poaching seven deer in northwestern Minnesota.
The Department of Natural Resources says the suspects are a 16-year-old from Roseau and a 17-year-old from Wannaska.
The DNR says a conservation officer received complaints early in the deer season about a couple of teens driving around with lots of deer in the back of a pickup near Malung, a small town in Roseau County.
DNR says the teens admitted using the headlights to blind the deer before shooting two does and five fawns. Three of the fawns were discovered near a church. The other carcasses were dumped at other locations.
The teens face fines, court costs, restitution of $500 per animal and confiscation of the rifle and scope.
