Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty is inserting himself in Nevada's Senate race by going to Las Vegas to help raise money for that effort.
The presumed Republican presidential candidate said on his Facebook page Thursday that he'll appear at a Nevada Republican dinner on Feb. 27.
The announcement includes jabs at Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and at President Barack Obama, who has drawn fire for unfavorable recent descriptions of Sin City.
The Democratic senator is expected to face stiff competition this fall as he runs for re-election.
Pawlenty is methodically making his way around the country as he sizes up a White House campaign. His term in Minnesota ends in January.
