Minn. lawmaker to unveil another job-creating bill

Democrats continue their focus on jobs on Monday with another proposal aimed at putting people to work.

Sen. James Metzen of South St. Paul is due to unveil a bill expected to be similar to a package of tax incentives proposed by House Democrats. Their bill aims to steer private money toward growing small businesses and historic renovation and jump-start a Mall of America expansion.

Metzen heads the Senate Committee on Business, Industry and Jobs, which will immediately consider his bill.

Democrats who control the Legislature promised an early focus on economic growth and job creation as the 2010 legislative session kicked off last week.
