Police ID St. Paul shooting victim; son jailed
Police have now identified a man who was shot to death at his St. Paul home.
He was identified Sunday as Anthony Tyrone Gaither, 45. His 18-year-old son remains in jail on suspicion of murder.
Sgt. Paul Schnell says people in the Daytons Bluff neighborhood reported hearing shots Saturday about 1:30 p.m. from inside the home.
Police found the wounded man outside with multiple gunshot wounds. He died a short time later at Regions Hospital.
Police say the 18-year-old fled but was arrested a few blocks away without incident.
Schnell says the investigation into exactly what prompted the shooting is ongoing. Investigators expect to present the case to the Ramsey County attorney's office on Tuesday.
