Couple and dogs found shot to death in Winona County

A small, rural community in Winona County is shaken by the shooting deaths of a newlywed couple.

Winona County Sheriff Dave Brand says the bodies of 47-year-old Morgan Nederhiser and his 59-year-old wife, Debrah Nederhiser, were found in an upstairs bedroom at their home in the unincorporated community of Nodine Tuesday afternoon.

Brand says sheriff's deputies went to the home after receiving a call from a concerned friend and an e-mail from a family minister. The sheriff says the Nederhisers are the only ones involved in the shooting, but investigators don't know yet "what exactly took place." He says the couple's three Greyhound dogs were also found shot to death, one in the garage and two outside the home.

Neighbor Mike McGuire says the Nederhisers were married in September.
