Prior Lake native Zach Parise scored the tying goal for Team USA with just 24 seconds left in the gold medal game, but Canada won the game 3-2 in overtime.

Parise is one of two dozen athletes from our region we've been watching closely as part of the MPR Fantasy Olympics competition.

Morning Edition and All Things Considered drafted local athletes onto fantasy teams and they earned points for competing, winning, appearing in national media and staying in touch with their fans back here at home.

Now that the games are over, Fantasy Olympics commissioner -- and Morning Edition producer -- Jeff Jones explains how Team All Things Considered won the Gold, 109-99.
