Brother charged in St. Paul homicide

Ramsey County prosecutors have charged a St. Paul man on Monday with unintentional second degree murder for the fatal shooting of his brother.

Prosecutors allege that Eric John Orloske, 38, shot his brother, Brian Orloske, 40, in the head on Saturday night.

According to the criminal complaint, Eric Orloske called police around 11 p.m., confessed to the shooting, and requested medical assistance for his brother.

When police arrived at Eric Orloske's St. Paul home, his brother was sprawled on the floor, unconscious, and bleeding severely from a gunshot wound to the head, the complaint says.

Eric Orloske was kneeling over him, holding a rag or towel over his brother's head wound, and told officers several times to "Kill me, too. Kill me, too," the complaint says.

Officials transported Brian Orloske to Regions Hospital where he was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound to the head.

According to the complaint, people who were at the home earlier that night told investigators that the brothers started "play wrestling" with each other after drinking shots of whiskey. Friends of the brothers told investigators that they had been planning a motorcycle trip.

Eric Orloske will make his first appearance in Ramsey County District Court on Tuesday afternoon.
