A plea agreement is in the works for an ex-Minneapolis police SWAT team member charged with bank robbery.

Timothy Edward Carson, 28, of Rosemount pleaded not guilty in federal court last month to one count of armed bank robbery and one firearms count in the Jan. 6 robbery of a bank in Apple Valley. He's also charged in 10 other armed robberies and two robbery attempts in Hennepin and Dakota counties.

In a court filing Thursday, Carson attorney Andrea George asked to cancel a Friday hearing because "the parties have reached a resolution of his case."

Jeanne Cooney, a spokeswoman for the U.S. attorney's office, says there's only a verbal agreement so far, but the plea deal may be filed shortly. A change-of-plea hearing has not been scheduled.

George did not immediately return a phone call.
