Police in suburban Minneapolis say a driver apparently reaching for a cell phone caused a three-vehicle crash that killed a 1-year-old child.

It happened at an intersection in Columbia Heights Thursday.

Police say the boy was in a car with his father. The woman reaching for her cell phone was in another vehicle. WCCO radio reports she was cited for inattentive driving and police say more serious charges could be filed.
