Grand jury indicts 15 in alleged drug conspiracy

A federal grand jury im Minneapolis has charged 15 people in an alleged conspiracy to distribute cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana and ecstasy.

An indictment was issued March 17, but it had been sealed until Monday, when seven of the individuals appeared in federal court on the charges.

According to the indictment, the group intended to distribute 4 or more kilograms of cocaine, 500 or more grams of methamphetamine, 100 or more kilograms of marijuana and 1,000 tablets of ecstasy between January 2008 and March 2010.

The defendants come from several Minnesota cities, including Minneapolis, Red Lake and St. Cloud, as well as California and Mexico. The seven who have already made court appearances are all from Minnesota.
