Canada's Ambassador to the U.S., Gary Doer

It's the 40th anniversary of the opening of the Canadian Consulate in the Twin Cities, and Canada's Ambassador to the U.S., Gary Doer, is in town to mark the occasion.

He'll meet with Gov. Tim Pawlenty at a public breakfast tomorrow in Minneapolis. On the menu are the issues of economic development and cross-border trade.

While he's here, he'll also speak with students at the University of Minnesota's Humphrey Institute about water policy.

Ambassador Gary Doer stopped by MPR News to talk about recent efforts to mitigate Red River flooding.
