Senate OKs bill to ease credit transfers at MnSCU

The state Senate has passed a bill that would make it easier for students to transfer credits within the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system.

It would require MnSCU officials to draft a five-year plan to simplify the transfer of course credits between schools, and to make students more aware of which credits can be transferred.

The bill is sponsored by Sen. Tarryl Clark of St. Cloud.

MnSCU universities already accept most transfers, but system officials say they'll work to implement any changes required if Clark's bill becomes law.
