U.S. Rep. Betty McCollum is celebrating the passage of the Democratic health care legislation.
The Minnesota Democrat who represents St. Paul and some of its suburbs is holding a Wednesday evening event at a Maplewood union hall. Democratic activists, elected officials, labor officials and health professionals are joining in.
McCollum, a strong supporter of the bill passed earlier this month and signed by President Obama, says advocates of the bill should be recognized.
The event is 5:30 to 7:30 Wednesday evening at the Sheet Metal Workers Local 10 Union Hall in Maplewood.
