Two people injured when their twin-engine airplane crashed into a marshy area in Eden Prairie remained hospitalized Friday.

Hennepin County Medical Center spokeswoman Christine Hill says 56-year-old pilot Alvin Bipes and 58-year-old passenger Timothy Jacobsen are in satisfactory condition. She says Jacobsen has a broken arm and Bipes has a cracked vertebra. Both have lacerations and bruises.

Officials say their Beechcraft 95 Travel Air crashed shortly after takeoff from Flying Cloud into 3 feet of water on the edge of the Minnesota River. The plane was bound for Wisconsin.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate.
