Minn. officials to announce road projects
Ice is out on Minnesota lakes and trees are starting to bud. Must be time for road work.
Gov. Tim Pawlenty and state Transportation Commissioner Tom Sorel are outlining more than 280 highway projects in a parking lot news conference in Eden Prairie on Wednesday.
The list is even longer than what was billed as a record-setting construction season last year. Even so, the Transportation Department's own planning says Minnesota is spending far less than would be needed to improve all the highways that need work.
