Search to resume for man in Crow River

Authorities in Hutchinson are expected to resume a search Wednesday for a man who reportedly fell into the Crow River.

A witness told the McLeod County Sheriff's Department that a middle-aged man slipped from some rocks near the dam on Main Street in Hutchinson about 7 p.m. Tuesday and was carried away in the fast-moving river.

Boats and a helicopter were launched in a search for the man. McLeod County Sheriff Scott Rehmann later called off the search because of darkness and the swift river current.

KDUZ reports specialized equipment from Hennepin County is being brought in to help search the river bottom near the dam area.
