Man stabbed in dispute over iguana in Alexandria

A dispute over an iguana led to a serious stabbing in Alexandria.

KSAX-TV reports Wednesday that a fight brought out Sunday at a home after several men arrived at the residence attempting to take back their terrarium containing a pet iguana.

When officers arrived, they found a 19-year-old Alexandria man had been stabbed while trying to retrieve the pet iguana. He was soon airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center.

A 49-year-old John Anderson of Minneapolis was charged with first-degree assault and is being held in the Douglas County Jail. Anderson was at the home visiting the woman who lived there.
