Search continues for woman's killer in Rochester

The third anniversary of the death of 27-year-old April Sorensen is Saturday and Rochester police are still looking for her killer.

The Post-Bulletin reports she died when someone entered her home shortly after noon and strangled and stabbed her. The killer set a fire to conceal the crime.

Investigators scoured the neighborhood for weeks, interviewing some 600 people. They sought help from other agencies and had the FBI create a profile of the killer.

Rochester Police Lt. Dan Muyres says the case remains open and investigators continue to follow up on tips and leads.

Anyone with information can call police at (507) 328-6800. To remain anonymous, call Project Safe City at (507) 328-6888. There's a $100,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
