Public invited to meet St. Paul chief candidates

St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman is hosting two public forums where the public can meet and ask questions of the four finalists to be the city's new chief of police.

The forums are Monday at Arlington High School at 6 p.m. and Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Johnson High School.

In attendance will be the four candidates: Todd Axtell, Colleen Luna, William Martinez and Tom Smith. They are in the running to replace current Chief John Harrington, who is stepping down.

Coleman is expected to name his choice by late May with a confirmation vote by the City Council soon afterword.
