Kids' birdwatching fair set in Bloomington

Children can watch live raptors up close and see bird banding at a kids' free birdwatching fair Saturday in Bloomington.

Aubudon Minnesota and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service are co-hosting the event. It runs from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge's Bloomington Visitor Center.

The event is designed for kids grade 6 and younger, but all ages are welcome.

There also will be a Minnesota Junior Duck Stamp Contest winners ceremony, and each child will receive a sticker book of area birds. Everyone attending gets a free lunch.
