Minn. police looking for golfers after angler hurt

Police in Forest Lake are looking for several golfers who may have been playing a prank when they hit a woman with a golf ball in a canoe.

The 49-year-old woman was with her husband fishing in a canoe on Shields Lake Sunday when she was struck in the head by a golf ball and needed stitches.

Forest Lake Police Chief Clark Quiring told KARE-TV in the Twin Cities that the woman has a large goose egg on her head and is suffering from headaches.

The victim's husband told police he saw four young men hitting golf balls toward the lake and heard them laughing just before his wife was struck. The men left quickly in two golf carts.
