Fire closes high school in Harmony for a day

A high school in Harmony is not in session on Thursday after a fire broke out the day before in the school's boiler room during lunch hour.

No one was injured, but the district called off classes at Fillmore Central on Thursday.

Principal Heath Olstad tells The Post-Bulletin of Rochester he and another teacher tried to put out the blaze that reached 6- to 8-feet at times along a back wall.

Students say they saw the flames, but no one panicked. Olstad isn't sure about classes on Friday. It's the district's last day of the academic because of a summer renovation project at another school. ---
