Waseca man killed when stolen vehicle rolls

Authorities say a Waseca man was killed early Friday when the stolen SUV he was driving rolled over.

Steele County Sheriff Don Gudmundson says 22-year-old Alexander Perry Berg was driving a stolen Isuzu SUV on County Road 12 northwest of Owatonna. It left the road, hit an incline and went airborne for 120 feet. He was ejected when the car overturned.

A passing motorist reported the crash around 4:50 a.m.

Berg was pronounced dead at the scene.

The SUV was reported stolen to Faribault police later Friday morning at 7:30 a.m.

The sheriff says it's not known yet if alcohol or drugs were a factor.
