Duluth police investigate possible dog poisonings

Police in Duluth are investigating several suspected dog poisonings in the city's Lakeside neighborhood.

One dog died after being poisoned, according to the attending veterinarian, and several other cases are being looked at, police said in a news release.

Owners whose dogs might have been victims of poisoning are asked to call police. Symptoms of poisoning include hyperactivity/restlessness, rapid heart rate, seizures, vomiting, red skin and eyes and fever.

Police said it doesn't matter when the incident occurred -- they want to know about it.

Police also are advising dog owners in the Lakeside neighborhood to supervise their animals closely.
