Fishermen save teen who jumped into St. Croix
Stillwater police say fishermen rescued a distraught teen who jumped into the St. Croix River from a lift bridge.
Alec Vujovich of Stillwater and Kyle Keene of Rosemount were trolling under the bridge Wednesday afternoon when they saw the 18-year-old man struggling to stay above water in the middle of the river.
Vujovich jumped into the water from his fishing boat while Keene threw him a lifejacket. Vujovich pulled the teen to the boat and Keene took them to shore where a small group of people had gathered, including a police officer.
The teen told police he was upset because his girlfriend wouldn't speak to him.
