4 teens arrested in brutal beating of UMD student

Four teens have been arrested in the brutal beating of a University of Minnesota-Duluth student left unconscious on the city's lake walk.

Police say three 17-year-old males and a 14-year-old were taken into custody for the May 20 beating of 21-year-old Walfrid "Dash" Johnson.

Friends say Johnson had been out drinking with friends and decided to walk home early that morning when he encountered the four.

Police say investigators got a break in the case while investigating a sexual assault. The Duluth News Tribune reports investigators discovered some blood evidence that led to the four teens.
