Pawlenty heads to New York for 'The Daily Show'

Republican Tim Pawlenty will appear on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" next Thursday as he builds up to a possible presidential run.

The two-term Minnesota governor announced the appearance on his Facebook page Friday.

Pawlenty has said he will reveal his future plans early next year. His current term ends in January and he has been traveling to speak to Republican audiences around the country.

Political spokesman Alex Conant says Pawlenty will also appear with George Stephanopoulos on ABC's "Good Morning America" Friday. His trip includes a fundraiser and private meetings before he returns to Minnesota on Saturday.

Gubernatorial spokesman Brian McClung says Pawlenty plans to broadcast his weekly WCCO Radio show from New York on Friday morning.
